Act, Dream, Plan and Believe; the Journey is the Reward so Live Mindfully.

Act, Dream, Plan and Believe; the Journey is the Reward so Live Mindfully.

These are words that summarize some of what I have learned reading self-help literature,  Positive Psychology of Seligman, R.E.T.of Albert Ellis, Existentialism of Victor Frankl,  Albert Camus, Sartre, Ernst Becker, and others, Zen and other Buddhist thoughts along with Chinese and Indian Philosophies; and my experience living many years and making my share of mistakes.

Habit Change was my original interest when I began writing journals of my daily thoughts and activities.  My understanding of  change has grown to encompass 'Change as a Constant' and the need for flexibility living in a constantly changing world with the constantly changing vehicle that is our human body, mind and soul.

Swimming Pool Theme

Swimming Pool because I worked as a Life Guard at beaches and swimming pools so water is a big theme in my early life.

Living in a beach shack during my childhood  taught me about the ocean's changing tides and its many life forms.  Bullheads to barnacles and everything in between found in tidal pools around  our beach playground.

2006

This is a year when things started to be recorded in one binder mostly.  This will be the start of what I find in this years notes that is still of interest.

2005 and Before notes

I have always kept notes of things I'm reading and thinking but never keeping things together in a single binder like I do now..  Some of the stuff was lost.  This will be a post of old stuff when I get it from the storage....

Journal Notes: Now is it! Be Here Now

I have kept a journal of my day's activities consisting of notes about books or articles that I'm reading and pressing thoughts about my situation vis-a-vis health, money and learning about the World Wide Web.

My journal follows few rules and has evolved over the last 6 years into a consistent place to write about what is on my mind.

This blog is a place to write notes as I review the journals which are kept by year and by month they were written in loose leaf binders.

The system is getting awkward as the binders accumulate.  Depending on activity some years require two 2" binders.  Space is at a premium because I have more than a thousand books.  I am in the process of culling much of my accumulated clutter.  Minimalist and orderly living space is the Vision.

One step at a time, small tasks repeated, will create the order and space to live required for a calm mind.

Now is it!  Be Here Now.
